PROPER CLEANING SUPPLIES FOR JOBS

Below is a list of suggested cleaning supplies.  To do a job right, you need the right tools for the job. You can save time, energy, and money in the long run by using the right cleaning products.  Plain water will not work. Here are my suggestions, or you can use similar products:

               BEDROOMS:

-          Water and a rag for dusting baseboards, stains will come off with “Comet”

-          “Pledge” for dusting wood furniture

-          “Comet,” water, and a rag for stains on walls and furniture

-          A wet rag and a butter knife for cleaning in the grooves of your window track, “Windex” and a paper towel for cleaning window, and water and a rag for blinds.
KITCHEN:

-          If you have lots of food spattered inside the microwave, take a microwave-safe container and fill it with water. Put it in the microwave on high for 5 minutes.  Remove the container, spray down with “409” and wipe out. Don’t forget to dry it.

-          Use a rag and cleaner like “409” to wipe out all food and stains from fridge shelves. Remove all food from fridge and freezer and clean underneath. Same goes for counters, kitchen cupboards, and dishwasher.

-          A wet rag and a butter knife for cleaning in the grooves of your window track, “Windex” and a paper towel for cleaning window, and water and a rag for blinds.
GENERAL LIVING AREA/OVEN/STOVE:

-          Use “Easy Off” for cleaning the inside of the oven, nothing else will take those stains off, and if the oven has stains it will not pass. Scrub the cleaner off with an “SOS Pad” and then wipe out white residue with warm water and a rag.

-          For the stove pans/trays (underneath stove coils), use “Easy Off” and an “SOS pad.” If you don’t want to do this, you can always buy new ones at Lowes or Walmart and they don’t cost much. You can cover your trays with tinfoil to keep them clean during the month, but all tinfoil must be off for checks! Don’t forget to lift up stove top and clean underneath.

-          Thoroughly sweep the floor with a broom and dustpan, then mop (I find the best way to mop is fill a bucket with water and an all purpose cleaner and get down on your hands and knees to mop.)

-          Don’t forget to wipe baseboards with a wet rag

BATHROOM:

-      Tubs should look sparkly white and clean. To get hard water stains, dark or yellow spots off, use “Comet” and scrub with the green side of a “Scotch-Brite” pad.

-       Use toilet bowl cleaner and don’t forget to wash all parts of toilet (bowl, base, tank, seat, etc.)

-    Use “409” or “Clorox” spray on sinks and counters. Use a “Pumice Stone” and “Lime-Away” or "CLR" to remove build-up that is hardened on faucets and drains. This will also remove rings in toilet bowls without scratching the porcelain.  

-    “Windex” and paper towels for mirror.
